Handball Inter-Community Competition
On Wednesday 18th July, 2018, Year 3 took part in a handball inter-community competition lead by some of Year 5.
All of the Year 3 pupils demonstrated key sporting values and skills from accurate passing and shooting to determined defending, as well as teamwork and perseverance. The Year 5's who led the event were once a credit to the school, showing a maturity beyond their years as they encouraged and organised year 3 pupils to ensure they understood and enjoyed the competition. They took on roles such as score-keeper, referee, coach and photographers, and all of the leaders rose to the challenge and performed these exceptionally well.
Well done, to 3L who were the overall winners, the team-talk by Miss Lewis at the start of the competition must have been incredibly inspiring and this was represented in their attitude and effort throughout the morning of her team(s).
Author Jeremy Strong and The Mayor of Bromley came to visit
We have had a very exciting week and were thrilled to have 2 very important visitors in school on Monday, the author Jeremy Strong and The Mayor of Bromley. The Mayor introduced herself to all the children in Year 3 and 4 and she was very impressed with the new provision to nurture our children. Our Head Boy and Head Girl, Shayaan and Fleur, did an amazing job showing all the fantastic work the children do at Red Hill. Every class had the opportunity to meet Jeremy Strong and hear about how he became a published author and many children were able to buy a signed copy of one of his books. He officially opened our Early Years outdoor area and was very impressed with the investments made for the youngest of our children, offering them a brilliant start to their education at Red Hill Primary.
