    Lesley Wilson

    Vice Chair of Governors

I have lived in Croydon for over 25 years. I have worked in the NHS all my working life. As a Speech and Language Therapist, as a professional lead for all therapies, such as Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, and as general manager. I retired two years ago and continue to work part time for the NHS. As a Speech and Language Therapist, providing communication assessments in a diagnostic clinic for people thought to be affected by Fatal Alcohol syndrome and as a Safety Manager. My role as a Safety Manager is to Investigate serious incidents to ensure the NHS shares good practice and learns from mistakes.

I have been a Governor at The Crescent before the school actually opened. Initially I volunteered as I attended Selhurst High School For Boys (many years ago) and wanted to see the building brought back to life - I am pleased to say it looks as impressive now as when refurbished 7 years ago and makes a fine environment for a Primary School. I have lived in Croydon for 45 years and have a 15 year old daughter who has just sat the new style GCSE’s and extensive Governor experience both at other Croydon Schools (Primary & Secondary) and for 6 years sat on Croydon Councils Education Scrutiny Committee. I passionately believe all children should get the chance of the best possible education.
